Potter and artist David L. Plunkett demonstrates the ancient art of working in clay for a number of functions at museums and for a number of schools, churches, and social/service organizations. David teaches pottery at Enterprise-Ozark Community College in Enterprise, Alabama.
When you watch a demonstration, you only see one step in the complicated and fascinating process that produces the finished product. You may see and/or purchase David's finished work at the studio and gallery at his home. Anyone interested in seeing more of his works may call 334-794-7936.
David uses a number of different types of clay, including terra cotta, brown stoneware, and a beautiful white stoneware. He creates most of his glazes from his own glaze formulas. There is no lead in any of the glazes. All of the functional pieces are food-safe, microwave-safe, dishwasher-safe, and ovenproof.
The pottery you will find at David's home gallery includes Raku, earthenware, and stoneware pottery. Many of the pieces are decorative while others are more functional. Clay and pottery tools are also available.
David also makes platters, soup bowls, mugs, serving bowls, cornbread dishes, tumblers, birdfeeders, bean pots, ugly-face jugs, beautiful raku pottery, and much more. If you are interested in finding out more about these items, please contact David at
